Jim Rebhan is an accordionist who lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.  He began studying the accordion at age 8, in Chicago and was taught by an Italian-American accordion player.  He has also played drums and other percussion since age 13.

He majored in Humanities, music at the University of Chicago, where he got his BA and later obtained his MFA at California Institute of the Arts, where he studied Electronic Music and composition with Morton Subotnick.

Since 1980 he has been playing primarily Klezmer music.  His bands also play Italian and other Old-World music.  He began performing on the Roland FR-7 shortly after it was introduced in 2004 and has progressed to the FR-7x and FR-8x.  His combination of experience with the accordion, percussion and electronic sound provides him with particular insight into the topic of configuring drum sounds for the Roland FR-8x.
